Cone Search
"Cone Search" is a demo Web application implementing an "instant" cone search on an astronomical catalogue. It emerged during our collaboration with the Universitäts-Sternwarte München (USM) and the Kapteyn Institute, Groningen. You can upload your own file-based catalogue to the Web application, thus creating an "instant cone search" service.
The cone search application can also easily be interfaced to a catalogue already stored in a relational database. Thus far the application has successfully been connected to the MySQL, HSQLDB, and Oracle 10g databases. Other databases could be added upon request. The cone search application may be useful for an astronomical institute already publishing or wishing to publish a small to medium-sized catalogue on the Web.
